Description

This creamy alfredo sauce combines rich flavors with simple preparation. Made with butter, cream, and parmesan, it’s ideal for a quick dinner or comfort food.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1 tsp garlic minced
  • 1 cup heavy whipping cream
  • 1 cup half and half
  • 1/2 teaspoon italian seasoning
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
  • 2 cups freshly grated parmesan cheese
  • up to 1/4 cup hot milk (optional) or pasta water
  • 1 pkg fettuccine noodles – cooked to package directions
  • freshly chopped parsley for garnish

Instructions

  • In a large skillet over medium high heat, melt the butter and add minced garlic. Allow it to simmer for about a minute.
  • Stir in the heavy cream and half and half, whisking until fully blended. Bring the mixture back to a gentle simmer.
  • Add the Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper, whisking to incorporate.
  • Gradually mix in the parmesan cheese, allowing it to melt slowly while stirring continuously.
  • Once the cheese has fully melted and the sauce is smooth, whisk in small quantities of hot milk or pasta water until reaching your desired consistency.
  • Combine the sauce with the cooked fettuccine noodles and garnish with fresh parsley if desired.

Notes

For a lighter sauce, you may reduce the amount of butter and cheese used.
Using freshly grated parmesan yields the best flavor and texture.
Feel free to add grilled chicken or vegetables for a complete meal.
