Description

These Creamy Garlic Mashed Potatoes are a delight! Featuring yukon gold potatoes, creamy mascarpone, and garlic paste, they’re perfect for enhancing your dinner with a rich, satisfying flavor. Ideal for quick meals and family gatherings, this recipe ensures comfort and indulgence with every bite.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 pounds yukon gold potatoes, peeled and quartered
  • 3/4 cup whole milk or milk of choice, lightly warmed
  • 1/3 cup sour cream or crème fraîche
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter, plus more for topping
  • 4 ounces mascarpone cheese
  • 3 tablespoons boursin® garlic & fine herbs cheese, optional
  • 1 tablespoon garlic paste
  • kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
  • 1 tablespoon freshly chopped chives, as garnish, optional

Instructions

  • Peel and quarter the potatoes. If keeping the skins on, wash thoroughly first.
  • Place the potatoes in a large dutch oven or pot, cover with cool water, and add a few pinches of kosher salt. Cook over medium-high heat for 20-25 minutes until fork-tender.
  • Drain the potatoes in a colander. Using a ricer, process the potatoes in batches back into the warm pot.
  • Stir in the milk, sour cream, butter, mascarpone, boursin (if using), and garlic paste until combined. Season with salt and freshly ground black pepper, adding more milk for desired consistency.
  • Serve in a large bowl topped with melted butter, freshly ground pepper, and garnish with chives, if desired.

Notes

For extra flavor, consider adding roasted garlic into the potatoes.
Adjust the consistency by adding more milk as needed to achieve a creamier texture.
Make it a day ahead and reheat gently before serving. Warm milk helps maintain the creamy texture.
