Description

These Easy Caramel Chocolate Mousse Domes combine rich chocolate, creamy caramel, and a delightful presentation. With simple ingredients and easy prep, they’re perfect for indulgent occasions or just a sweet treat at home.


Ingredients

  • 8 oz quality chocolate semi-sweet or dark chocolate
  • 4 tbsp unsalted butter can substitute with vegan butter
  • 1 cup heavy cream coconut cream for dairy-free option
  • 1 tbsp gelatin consider agar-agar for vegetarian option
  • 1 cup granulated sugar coconut sugar for less refined sweetness
  • 1 tsp sea salt fleur de sel for gourmet finish
  • 1 cup fresh berries for vibrant presentation
  • 1/4 cup chocolate shavings for elegant finish

Instructions

  • Melt the chocolate and unsalted butter together in a double boiler, stirring gently until smooth. Set aside to cool slightly.
  • Whip the heavy cream in a large mixing bowl until soft peaks form, then gently fold it into the cooled chocolate mixture.
  • In a medium saucepan, cook granulated sugar over medium heat until it reaches a golden amber color. Then, add the butter and heavy cream while stirring continuously until smooth, followed by the sea salt.
  • Spoon the mousse into dome molds, creating an indentation in each dome. Fill with salted caramel and cover with more mousse. Chill for at least 4 hours.
  • Once chilled, gently press on the sides to unmold the mousse domes and serve chilled.
  • Optional: Garnish with fresh berries or chocolate shavings before serving.

Notes

For a dairy-free option, substitute heavy cream with coconut cream.
If vegan, use vegan butter and agar-agar instead of gelatin.
