Description

Grandma’s Oatmeal Raisin Cookies are simply delightful! With a mix of oats, raisins, and warm spices, these cookies provide a comforting taste that anyone will enjoy. Perfect for a cozy afternoon or a sweet treat anytime, they’re easy to make with simple ingredients.


Ingredients

  • flour
  • cinnamon
  • baking soda
  • salt
  • old-fashioned oats
  • softened butter
  • brown sugar
  • sugar
  • egg
  • vanilla
  • raisins

Instructions

  1. In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, cinnamon, baking soda, and salt. Stir in old-fashioned oats and set aside.
  2. In a large bowl, beat together softened butter, brown sugar, and sugar until well combined. Add in egg and vanilla and mix until fully combined, stopping to scrape down the sides of the bowl as needed.
  3. Mix in the dry ingredients until just combined, then mix in raisins.
  4. Cover the cookie dough and refrigerate for 30 minutes.
  5. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  6. Once the dough is chilled, place 1 1/2 tbsp size scoops of cookie dough on the prepared baking sheet, leaving room between the cookies to spread.
  7. Bake for 10-12 minutes.
  8. Let cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool.

Notes

For chewier cookies, refrigerate the dough longer before baking.
Ensure to use old-fashioned oats for the best texture.
You can substitute raisins with chocolate chips if preferred.
