Description

These Make Ahead Crockpot Mashed Potatoes are fluffy, flavorful, and simple to prepare. With creamy textures from sour cream and rich chicken broth, they are perfect for a quick comfort meal with minimal effort.


Ingredients

  • 3 pounds potatoes
  • 4 garlic cloves
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp pepper
  • 1 tsp oregano
  • 1/2 cup milk

Instructions

  1. Wash the potatoes thoroughly and place them with skin on in a large crock pot.
  2. Add the whole garlic cloves and pour in the chicken broth.
  3. Cook the mixture on high for 3-4 hours or on low for 4-5 hours, until the potatoes are fork-tender.
  4. Incorporate sour cream, butter, salt, pepper, and oregano into the potatoes.
  5. Use a potato masher to mix in the butter and sour cream with the potatoes as you mash them.
  6. Gradually stir in milk until the mashed potatoes reach your desired consistency.
  7. Adjust seasoning with additional salt and pepper as needed.

Notes

For extra flavor, consider using roasted garlic instead of whole garlic cloves.
Feel free to adjust the consistency of the mashed potatoes with more or less milk. A splash of cream can also enhance creaminess.
These mashed potatoes can be made ahead of time and stored in the refrigerator; reheat before serving.
