Description
These delightful Raspberry Nutella Heart Pies combine the rich flavor of Nutella with juicy strawberries. With simple prep and just a few key ingredients, they’re a perfect homemade treat for any occasion!
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 package pre-made pie crusts
- nutella
- 1 cup diced strawberries
- 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 1 egg
- 1–2 tablespoons water
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 425°F.
- Prepare the strawberry filling by washing and dicing the strawberries. Combine with sugar and cornstarch in a bowl, mixing well. Let sit for a few minutes to macerate.
- Unroll the first pie crust on a clean surface or parchment paper. Cut out heart shapes and place them on a greased or parchment-lined cookie sheet, spacing them apart. Re-roll the leftover dough to cut additional hearts, saving the second pie crust for the tops.
- Spread 1-2 teaspoons of Nutella on the center of each heart, softening it in the microwave if necessary for easier spreading.
- Add a spoonful of the strawberry filling to each heart.
- Unroll the second pie crust and cut out the same number of hearts. Place these on top of each filled pie and seal the edges with a fork.
- Poke small holes in the tops for steam to escape during baking.
- Whisk together the egg and water until well combined. Lightly brush this mixture over the tops of the pies.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 12-14 minutes or until golden brown.
