- 1 lb. ground turkey
- 1 large egg
- ½ cup plain bread crumbs, or italian breadcrumbs
- 2 shallots, minced (approx. ¼ cup)
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 3 tablespoons cold butter, grated
- 1 teaspoons dried oregano
- 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, minced
- 1 tablespoon fresh basil, minced
- ½ teaspoon ground pepper
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 2 24-oz. marinara sauce, 2 jars
- 8 oz. angel hair pasta, or any kind of pasta
- Freshly grated Parmesan cheese
- more fresh basil and parsley
Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine the ground turkey, egg, breadcrumbs, shallots, garlic, oregano, parsley, basil, ground pepper, and salt.
- Mix thoroughly using a large wooden spoon or your hands for better results.
- Incorporate the cold grated butter into the mixture until evenly distributed.
- Shape the mixture into golf ball-sized meatballs and repeat until all the mixture is used up, yielding approximately 12 meatballs.
Notes
You can use pre-packaged Italian breadcrumbs for added flavor.
Feel free to substitute different types of pasta depending on your preference.
These meatballs can also be baked instead of cooked in a sauce for a healthier option.
