Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb. ground turkey
  • 1 large egg
  • ½ cup plain bread crumbs, or italian breadcrumbs
  • 2 shallots, minced (approx. ¼ cup)
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 3 tablespoons cold butter, grated
  • 1 teaspoons dried oregano
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, minced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh basil, minced
  • ½ teaspoon ground pepper
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 2 24-oz. marinara sauce, 2 jars
  • 8 oz. angel hair pasta, or any kind of pasta
  • Freshly grated Parmesan cheese
  • more fresh basil and parsley

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine the ground turkey, egg, breadcrumbs, shallots, garlic, oregano, parsley, basil, ground pepper, and salt.
  2. Mix thoroughly using a large wooden spoon or your hands for better results.
  3. Incorporate the cold grated butter into the mixture until evenly distributed.
  4. Shape the mixture into golf ball-sized meatballs and repeat until all the mixture is used up, yielding approximately 12 meatballs.

Notes

You can use pre-packaged Italian breadcrumbs for added flavor.
Feel free to substitute different types of pasta depending on your preference.
These meatballs can also be baked instead of cooked in a sauce for a healthier option.
