Description

These STRAWBERRY SHORTCAKE OREO BALLS are a delightful blend of golden Oreos, creamy filling, and the delicious flavor of freeze-dried strawberries, making them perfect for your next gathering.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 36 golden oreo cookies (finely crushed)
  • 8 oz. brick cream cheese (softened)
  • 1 lb. almond bark (melted)
  • 12 oz freeze dried strawberries (finely crushed)

Instructions

  • Crush the Golden Oreo cookies using a blender, food processor, or by smashing them in a sealed bag with a meat mallet.
  • Combine the cookie crumbs with the softened cream cheese until fully blended.
  • Crush the freeze-dried strawberries using a blender for fine crumbs or chop for larger pieces.
  • Mix the crushed strawberries into the cookie mixture until well incorporated.
  • Use a cookie scoop to portion out about 1.5 tablespoons of the mixture, rolling each into a ball.
  • Arrange the Oreo balls on a parchment-lined cookie sheet.
  • Freeze the balls for about 20-30 minutes before dipping them in chocolate.
  • Melt the candy coating in the microwave for about 1 minute 20 seconds, stirring until smooth, microwaving in 15-second increments as needed.
  • Dip each ball in the melted chocolate and place them back on the lined pan.
  • Tint the leftover melted chocolate with drops of pink or red food coloring, drizzling it over each Oreo ball with a ziplock bag.
  • Reserve some Oreo cream filling and remove it from the reserved cookies, crushing the cookies into crumbs.
  • Sprinkle the cookie crumbs over each Oreo ball for decoration.
  • Once the chocolate has set, trim any excess chocolate pooling around the balls for a perfect finish.

Notes

For an even smoother chocolate coating, ensure your chocolate is thoroughly melted before dipping.
Try different variations by using milk chocolate or semi-sweet almond bark instead of vanilla almond bark.
Add extra crushed freeze-dried strawberries for a more intense strawberry flavor.
