Description

This Banana Cream Pie is a delightful treat featuring fresh bananas, a luscious custard, and a crispy crust. It’s simple to create and a favorite for gatherings!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 baked pie crust
  • 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup cornstarch
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 3 large egg yolks beaten
  • 3 cups whole milk
  • 1 tablespoon unsalted butter
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 bananas sliced, plus more for topping
  • 1/2 cup whipped cream or store-bought whipped topping

Instructions

  1. In a medium saucepan off of heat, whisk together sugar, cornstarch, and salt. Then whisk in egg yolks and milk.
  2. Place over medium heat, stirring constantly until boiling and thickened, about 10 minutes. Let it boil while stirring for 1 minute once boiling.
  3. Stir in butter and vanilla until smooth.
  4. Add sliced banana to the bottom of the baked pie crust. Pour the pudding mixture over the bananas.
  5. Put the pie in the refrigerator to cool for 4 hours.
  6. Make whipped cream before serving, pipe around the edges of the pie, and add banana slices on top.

Notes

Ensure the pie is well-chilled before serving for the best flavor and texture.
Use fresh bananas for optimal taste and appearance in your pie.
