- 1 1/2 cups salted butter, softened
- 1 cup sugar
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1 teaspoon cornstarch
- 4 cups fresh blueberries
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 2 tablespoons milk
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350℉ and line a 9×13 inch pan with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl or stand mixer, combine the softened butter, sugar, vanilla extract, and salt.
- Scrape down the sides of the bowl and stir in the all-purpose flour until combined.
- Press about 2/3 of the mixture into the prepared pan and bake for 15 minutes.
- In a separate bowl, combine the sugar and cornstarch, then add the fresh blueberries and stir until coated.
- Spoon the blueberry mixture over the baked crust and spread it evenly.
- Add the remaining crumb mixture on top of the blueberries.
- Bake for an additional 30-35 minutes, or until golden brown and bubbly.
- For the icing, whisk together the powdered sugar and 2 tablespoons of milk, adding more milk if necessary for a drizzling consistency.
- Once the bars are cool, drizzle the icing on top and enjoy.
Notes
For a gluten-free option, substitute all-purpose flour with a gluten-free blend.
These bars can be stored in an airtight container for several days.
They freeze well, so consider making a double batch for future treats.
