- 2 teaspoons lemon juice

- 12 ounces pound cake
- 8 ounces Cool Whip
- 6 tablespoons caramel sauce
Instructions
- Peel and chop the apples into small cubes and place them in a medium saucepan.
- Add the lemon juice, cinnamon, nutmeg, and brown sugar, and stir well.
- Simmer the mixture over medium heat for about 10 minutes until the apples soften and the sugar melts into a syrup. Let it cool slightly.
- Cut the pound cake into bite-sized cubes and prepare a piping bag with Cool Whip.
- Begin layering in serving glasses: start with pound cake cubes, then add a layer of the apple mixture, followed by caramel sauce and Cool Whip.
- Repeat the layers: pound cake, apples, caramel, and Cool Whip. Finish with an extra caramel drizzle on top.
Notes
For a gluten-free option, substitute the pound cake with a gluten-free cake mix.
This dessert can be made a few hours in advance and kept in the fridge before serving.
