Description

This creamy garlic chicken breasts dish boasts irresistible flavors that come together in no time. Perfect for a quick dinner, it features tender chicken simmered in a rich sauce of garlic, cream, and parmesan, making it a comforting and satisfying option for any night of the week.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 boneless skinless chicken breasts, or 2 large breasts halved horizontally
  • 1 teaspoon italian seasoning
  • ½ teaspoon kosher salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ¼ cup (31 g) all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter, divided
  • 5 teaspoons garlic, minced
  • 1 cup (8 ounces) chicken broth
  • ½ cup (119 g) heavy cream
  • ¼ cup (25 g) finely grated parmesan cheese
  • 12 teaspoons fresh lemon juice, optional, to brighten flavor
  • Fresh parsley, chopped, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Season the chicken breasts with italian seasoning, kosher salt, black pepper, and garlic powder.
  2. Dredge the chicken in flour, shaking off any excess.
  3. Heat the olive oil and 1 tablespoon of butter in a skillet over medium-high heat.
  4. Add the chicken to the skillet and cook for about 6-7 minutes on each side until golden and cooked through.
  5. Remove the chicken from the skillet and set aside.
  6. In the same skillet, add the remaining butter and minced garlic, sautéing until fragrant.
  7. Pour in the chicken broth and bring to a simmer, scraping any brown bits from the bottom.
  8. Stir in the heavy cream and parmesan cheese, mixing until smooth.
  9. Return the chicken to the skillet, allowing it to simmer in the sauce for a few minutes.
  10. Finish with fresh lemon juice if desired and garnish with chopped parsley before serving.

Notes

For a healthier option, use half-and-half instead of heavy cream.
Feel free to add your favorite vegetables into the sauce for a complete meal.
Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
