- 4 boneless skinless chicken breasts, or 2 large breasts halved horizontally
- 1 teaspoon italian seasoning
- ½ teaspoon kosher salt
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
- ½ teaspoon garlic powder
- ¼ cup (31 g) all-purpose flour
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 3 tablespoons unsalted butter, divided
- 5 teaspoons garlic, minced
- 1 cup (8 ounces) chicken broth
- ½ cup (119 g) heavy cream
- ¼ cup (25 g) finely grated parmesan cheese
- 1–2 teaspoons fresh lemon juice, optional, to brighten flavor
- Fresh parsley, chopped, for garnish
Instructions
- Season the chicken breasts with italian seasoning, kosher salt, black pepper, and garlic powder.
- Dredge the chicken in flour, shaking off any excess.
- Heat the olive oil and 1 tablespoon of butter in a skillet over medium-high heat.
- Add the chicken to the skillet and cook for about 6-7 minutes on each side until golden and cooked through.
- Remove the chicken from the skillet and set aside.
- In the same skillet, add the remaining butter and minced garlic, sautéing until fragrant.
- Pour in the chicken broth and bring to a simmer, scraping any brown bits from the bottom.
- Stir in the heavy cream and parmesan cheese, mixing until smooth.
- Return the chicken to the skillet, allowing it to simmer in the sauce for a few minutes.
- Finish with fresh lemon juice if desired and garnish with chopped parsley before serving.
Notes
For a healthier option, use half-and-half instead of heavy cream.
