- 2 (14 ounce) cans chickpeas, drained and rinsed
- 4 garlic cloves, minced
- ⅔ cup tahini
- ¼ cup hot honey, plus more for drizzling
- ½ lemon, juiced
- ½ tsp kosher salt
- ½ tsp pepper
- ¼ to ½ cup ice water
- olive oil for drizzling
Instructions
- Set aside a few chickpeas to sprinkle on top of the finished hummus.
- In a food processor, combine the chickpeas, garlic, tahini, hot honey, lemon juice, and ½ teaspoon each of salt and pepper. Blend for 2 to 3 minutes, scraping down the sides every 30 seconds until the mixture is well blended.
- While the processor is running, gradually add in the ice water and blend until the hummus is smooth and creamy. Adjust seasoning with more salt and pepper if desired, and blend again if needed.
- Transfer the hummus to a bowl or plate, topping it with reserved chickpeas. Drizzle with olive oil and hot honey, and sprinkle with salt and pepper before serving.
Notes
Feel free to adjust the level of heat by changing the amount of hot honey.
This hummus pairs well with pita chips and fresh vegetables for dipping.
Store any leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge and enjoy within a few days.
