Description

  • 1 cup unsalted butter softened
  • 8 ounces cream cheese softened to room temperature
  • 2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
  • 5 cups powdered sugar sifted
  • 34 tablespoons heavy cream
  • 8 oreo chocolate sandwich cookies crushed into fine crumbs

Instructions

  1. Beat the softened butter, cream cheese, and vanilla in a stand mixer or medium bowl with a handheld mixer on medium-high speed for 2 to 2½ minutes until smooth and fluffy.
  2. Reduce the mixer speed to medium-low. Gradually add the powdered sugar 1½ cups at a time, alternating with 1 tablespoon of heavy cream after each addition. If needed, incorporate an additional ½ cup of powdered sugar for a thicker consistency.
  3. Continue mixing until the frosting is smooth and creamy.
  4. Gently fold in the finely crushed Oreos, ensuring no large clumps remain for piping purposes. If not using immediately or in warm conditions, refrigerate the frosting until needed.
  5. Before using, bring the frosting to room temperature for 20 to 30 minutes and re-whip for 15 to 30 seconds until fluffy.

Notes

Ensure that the Oreos are finely crushed to avoid clumping when piping.
If the frosting is too soft, add more powdered sugar until the desired consistency is reached.
For best results, use room temperature ingredients to achieve a smooth mix.
