Description

These Homemade Artisan Crackers offer irresistible flavors with simple prep, featuring key ingredients like rosemary and garlic, making them perfect for gatherings or as a healthy snack!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups (250g) all-purpose flour, plus more for kneading and rolling
  • 1 teaspoon granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon finely chopped fresh rosemary
  • 2/3 cup (160g/ml) water
  • 3 tablespoons (41g/45ml) extra-virgin olive oil, plus more for brushing on top
  • flaky sea salt, for topping

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, salt, onion powder, garlic powder, and rosemary. Pour in the water and olive oil, stirring until the dough forms a clump.
  2. Turn the dough out onto a floured surface and knead lightly until it holds together. Return it to the bowl, cover with plastic wrap, and let it rest for 10 minutes to 1 hour.
  3. Preheat your oven to 425°F (218°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  4. Cut the dough in half, covering one half while you roll out the other.
  5. Roll out one half of the dough into a thin rectangle (about 1/16th of an inch), adding flour as needed to prevent sticking.
  6. Cut the rolled-out dough into small rectangles (3 x 1.5 inches) and place them on the prepared baking sheets.
  7. Repeat the rolling and cutting process with the second half of the dough.
  8. Dock the crackers with a fork and brush with olive oil. Sprinkle with flaky sea salt and additional toppings if desired.
  9. Bake for 9–12 minutes until golden brown, rotating the sheets halfway through for even baking.
  10. Let crackers cool completely on the baking sheets set on a cooling rack before enjoying with your favorite dips.

Notes

Crackers can be flavored with various add-ins like sesame seeds or everything bagel seasoning.
Store in an airtight container for up to 2 days; re-crisp in the oven before serving if needed.
These crackers pair wonderfully with dips or cheeses.
