Description
This Homemade Pizza Sauce combines the rich taste of crushed tomatoes with garlic and spices for a delicious addition to your favorite pizza. Simple to prepare and incredibly flavorful, it makes for a quick homemade pizza night!
Ingredients

- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 3 cloves garlic, grated on a Microplane
- 1 1/2 teaspoons dried oregano
- 1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
- 28 oz crushed tomatoes
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 1 tablespoon unsalted butter
- Kosher salt and freshly ground pepper, to taste
Instructions
- Heat olive oil over medium heat in a saucepan.
- Add grated garlic and cook for 2 minutes, stirring regularly, until fragrant.
- Stir in dried oregano and crushed red pepper flakes; cook for 1 minute until aromatic.
- Add crushed tomatoes and sugar; reduce heat to low.
- Simmer for 20 minutes until sauce thickens.
- Stir in unsalted butter and season with kosher salt and freshly ground pepper. Cool to room temperature.
Notes
Feel free to adjust the level of crushed red pepper flakes to suit your spice preference.
This sauce can be stored in the refrigerator for up to a week or in the freezer for up to 3 months.
Use this sauce on homemade pizza, pasta, or as a dipping sauce!
