Description

This elevated box mac and cheese features a creamy cheese sauce made with Greek yogurt and butter, delivering irresistible flavor in just minutes. Perfect for quick dinners and comfort food cravings!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 box kraft macaroni and cheese
  • 23 tablespoons pasta water
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1/4 cup 2% greek yogurt
  • 1/2 teaspoon hot sauce
  • 1/8 teaspoon ground black pepper

Instructions

  1. Boil a large pot of salted water and cook the macaroni according to the package directions until al dente.
  2. Before draining, reserve about ¼ cup of the starchy pasta water and set it aside. Drain the noodles in a colander.
  3. Return the empty pot to low heat and add the butter, allowing it to melt completely.
  4. Mix in the Greek yogurt, 2 tablespoons of reserved pasta water, hot sauce, and black pepper into the melted butter until smooth.
  5. Stir in the cheese powder packet and mix until there are no clumps, adjusting with remaining pasta water if necessary.
  6. Add drained noodles to the pot and stir until all noodles are coated in the creamy cheese sauce. Serve hot with your choice of toppings.

Notes

Feel free to customize by adding your favorite vegetables or proteins to the mac and cheese.
Using full-fat yogurt gives an even creamier texture, but 2% works well too.
Monitor the sauce consistency and adjust with pasta water to achieve desired creaminess.
