Description

Pork Piccata offers an irresistible flavor with simple preparation. Featuring juicy pork chops, zesty lemon, and savory capers, it’s a quick and satisfying meal that’s perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 pork chops
  • Salt & pepper to taste
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Flour for dredging
  • 4 tablespoons butter divided
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1/4 cup chicken broth or dry white wine
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice + zest of 1 lemon
  • 1 tablespoon brined capers drained
  • 1/2 cup heavy/whipping cream
  • Garnish (optional) chopped parsley and/or freshly grated parmesan cheese

Instructions

  1. Season the pork chops generously with salt & pepper and rub with garlic powder. Coat the pork in flour.
  2. In a skillet over medium-high heat, add half the butter along with the olive oil.
  3. Once the skillet is hot, add the pork and sear for 3-5 minutes on each side until golden brown. Transfer to a plate.
  4. Remove the skillet from the heat and add chicken broth, lemon juice, lemon zest, remaining butter, and capers, scraping up any browned bits from the pan.
  5. Stir in the cream and return the skillet to heat. Once bubbling, add the pork back.
  6. Cook for an additional 3-5 minutes until the pork is done and the sauce has thickened to your preference.
  7. Serve the pork garnished with chopped parsley and/or parmesan if desired.

Notes

For a lighter version, substitute heavy cream with half and half.
Serve with pasta or asparagus as a side for a complete meal.
