Description
This Valentine 2 Ingredient Bagel offers an irresistible flavor with simple prep using self-rising flour and Greek yogurt. Perfect for a quick snack or breakfast!
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup self-rising flour
- 1 cup plain non-fat greek yogurt
- 1 egg plus 1 teaspoon of water; optional if you want to add toppings such as sesame seeds or poppy seeds
Instructions
- In a bowl, mix the self-rising flour and Greek yogurt using a wooden spoon.
- When the dough starts to come together, transfer it onto a floured surface and knead until it forms a ball.
- Since the dough is sticky, flour your hands and the surface well. Incorporate additional flour if needed to bind the dough.
- Cut the dough into four equal pieces.
- Shape each piece into a long log about 4 to 6 inches long, then pinch the ends to create a bagel shape.
- Arrange the bagels on a lined baking sheet with parchment paper or Silpat.
- Prepare the egg wash by combining the egg with one teaspoon of water, brush it over the bagels, and add your preferred toppings.
- Bake the bagels in a preheated 350°F oven for about 22 minutes.
- After 22 minutes, increase the oven temperature to 450°F.
- Place the tray back into the oven for an additional 3 to 4 minutes until the bagel tops are golden brown.
- Store bagels in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days or freeze for up to 3 months.
Notes
Ensure your hands are floured to handle the sticky dough.
For extra flavor, add toppings like sesame seeds or poppy seeds before baking.
Experiment with different seasonings to customize your bagels.
